Start Small: The Power of the Smallest Possible Step

Hi,

I hope you’re ready to take things slow and steady this week, because that’s exactly how real, lasting progress is made.

Let me share a bit about my own journey. For the past six months, I’ve been hitting the gym every single day. No days off. I’m proud of that now, but here’s the thing—it wasn’t always like this. I’d tried going to the gym every day before, but each time, I’d eventually slip up and give up.

What changed? I discovered something called the smallest 100% achievable goal. If my vision was to go to the gym every day, then the first step became setting a goal to go just once a week. And I committed to that, sticking with it for a couple of weeks. Once that felt natural, I bumped it up to two days a week. Then three. Over time, that “impossible” goal of daily workouts became my new normal.

By setting small, achievable goals and building up slowly, you can accomplish just about anything you want. And I mean anything. Real success doesn’t come from quick fixes or grand gestures. Even Warren Buffet—the legendary investor—earned the majority of his wealth after age 65. He understood that success is about patience, consistency, and the willingness to grow over time.

So, what’s the smallest, 100% achievable step you can take toward your goals this week? Start there, and give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. Remember, big change starts with small, consistent actions.

Here’s to the journey,
Arnolds.
